Datagate growth spurs new appointments

Liston Pinto and Phillip Wang have joined Datagate

Datagate is supporting business growth with two new appointments, hiring Liston Pinto as Solution Sales Lead Phillip Wang as Technical Consultant.

Datagate is increasing staff numbers to help cope with new business growth. The firm has created two new customer-facing roles, appointing Liston Pinto as Solution Sales Lead and Phillip Wang as Technical Consultant.

Datagate is having to grow staff numbers to keep up with new business enquiries, says CEO Mark Loveys.

“International enquiries are ramping up, particularly in North America. We also have our first prospects in Australia,” he says.

Liston Pinto – Solution Sales Lead

Liston Pinto will be responsible for Datagate sales in the ANZ region. He joins the company from Australian-owned Vocus Group Ltd, an international telecommunications company. At Vocus Auckland, Liston sold Utility products to small and medium sized businesses. He was Vocus’s SME top performer in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Liston’s extensive experience in the telecommunications industry is valuable to Datagate, says CEO Mark Loveys.

“Liston has a thorough understanding of the products and value propositions in the telephony industry. That knowledge is very helpful for our resellers.”

Liston says Datagate is a ‘dream come true’ for resellers in terms of the product portfolio they can resell.

“Selling a mix of different products has been a big challenge for companies, and it’s this bundling that Datagate does brilliantly,” he says.

“With Vocus I’ve sold telephony, power and gas, so I understand the process a company goes through when they try to sell a product different from anything they’ve sold before. Billing and managing the end customer’s expectations is the biggest challenge. Datagate provides a solution for these pain points and the industry needs it. I completely believe in the solution and value proposition Datagate provides.”

Phillip Wang – Technical Consultant

Accountant Phillip Wang joins Datagate from the Enprise Solutions Helpdesk, where he supported customers and did ERP pre-sales and implementation.

Phillip’s accounting degree and experience in supporting financial solutions will help Datagate customers, says CEO Mark Loveys.

“Our billing solution interfaces with accounting systems, so accounting-type questions do come up. Phillip understands those and can talk directly with customers’ financial staff. Phillip’s expertise in that area will help us integrate customer systems and work together correctly.”

Wang says he’s always had a fascination with software.

“I’ve always wanted to be involved with building great software,” he says.

“For Datagate I’ll be providing support to customers, helping with pre-sales, doing implementations. But also, an important part of my role is to give customer feedback to the development team. It’s going to be very exciting to help direct the product and contribute to its future.”
