At Alianza’s inaugural Navigate 25 conference in Salt Lake City, one theme came through loud and clear: service providers are looking for clarity, connection, and confidence in the future of UCaaS.
For those in the Metaswitch community, that confidence was well earned. After Microsoft’s exit, many providers were left wondering what would come next. At Navigate 25, Alianza delivered a clear message — the platform’s future is not only secure, but expanding.
It was inspiring to see such a strong turnout from across the U.S. (with a surprisingly large contingent from Kansas!) and international representation from the UK and Europe.
Whether attendees were current Alianza partners, long-time Metaswitch providers, or ecosystem vendors, everyone shared one thing in common: optimism about where this industry is headed.
An Ecosystem of Innovation
Navigate 25’s opening keynote framed the event perfectly: The Ecosystem of Innovation.
Alianza’s leadership emphasized that the company’s mission is not to compete with its partners, but to empower them — working alongside service providers and third-party developers to deliver integrated, flexible, and forward-looking communication solutions.
It’s a message that resonates deeply with us at Datagate. Innovation doesn’t happen in silos — it happens when platforms and partners align to solve shared challenges, like simplifying complexity for service providers.
Core, Fusion, and One: Clarity in the Product Roadmap
A major highlight of the event was Alianza’s introduction of its new Intelligent Communications Fabric, which unites experience, orchestration, and infrastructure under one vision.
Within that architecture, Alianza has defined three distinct paths for service providers:
- Core – for providers that want to host and manage their own infrastructure.
- Fusion – for those who prefer a hosted and managed model, powered by Alianza’s infrastructure.
- One – for providers who want a full-stack, cloud-native communications platform hosted by Alianza but managed by the provider.
Each destination gives service providers a different balance of control, simplicity, and scale — and together, they ensure Alianza’s platform can meet providers wherever they are on their cloud journey.
That commitment to “not competing, but enabling” stood out. It reflects a healthy shift in the telecom landscape: vendors, service providers, and third-party developers moving toward partnership, not platform lock-in.
Datagate’s Role: Building on the CDR Integration
At Datagate, we share Alianza’s focus on simplifying complexity. Our CDR (Call Detail Record) integration already allows Alianza service providers to automate telecom billing — including rating, taxation, and invoicing — without rekeying or manual reconciliation.
Now, we’re taking the next step with a full API integration for moves, adds, and changes (MACD). This will allow service providers to sync customer and account changes automatically between Datagate and Alianza. No duplicate setup. No extra steps. Just seamless synchronization across systems.
For service providers scaling UCaaS, that means more accuracy, less manual effort, and faster time to revenue.
Shared Vision: Integration and Automation
If there was one recurring topic throughout Navigate 25, it was automation. Every conversation came back to efficiency — how to streamline workflows, reduce operational friction, and connect the platforms that keep a telecom business running.
That’s exactly where Datagate fits into the Alianza ecosystem.
By integrating with PSA platforms like HaloPSA, ConnectWise, and Autotask, accounting systems like QuickBooks and Xero, and tax engines such as Avalara, Wolters Kluwer CCH® SureTax, Compliance Solutions, and CereTax, Datagate bridges the gap between communications and operations.
This approach mirrors Alianza’s own message — that success comes from alignment across the ecosystem. Together, we’re helping service providers turn complexity into clarity through integration.
A Promising Start for Navigate 25
Navigate 25 wasn’t just Alianza’s first event — it was a signal of momentum. The sessions, conversations, and new product roadmap all pointed to an industry moving forward with confidence.
For Datagate, it was encouraging to see Alianza’s focus on collaboration, clarity, and innovation. The “Fusion” announcement reinforced that Alianza is building a platform designed for flexibility — one that will empower service providers of all types, from regional carriers to global CSPs.
We left Salt Lake City energized by the direction of this partnership and the shared belief that simplicity is a competitive advantage.
Here’s to more connection, collaboration, and automation in 2025.
