New service revenue streams for MSPs using ConnectWise

ORLANDO, FL. Online billing portal specialist Datagate Innovation has launched a cloud service to enable flexible telecommunication and utility billing for Managed Service Providers who use ConnectWise software.

The Datagate service opens new potential revenue streams for ConnnectWise users by making it easier for them to re-sell services from any combination of telecommunication and utility service providers. Datagate’s online billing portal plugs into the usage data feeds of telecommunication providers and manages the data aggregation, rating, billing and analysis of service usage. Datagate shares customer account details with ConnectWise Manage and enables MSPs to view their clients’ Datagate-generated invoices from inside ConnectWise Manage.

This new service for ConnectWise users is the result of Datagate’s decision to partner with ConnectWise, announced earlier this year, says Datagate CEO Mark Loveys.

“Since we found that so many of our clients use ConnectWise, we decided to partner more closely with ConnectWise to make our products integrate better and be even more complementary,” he says.

“ConnectWise clients can use Datagate to re-sell the services of any upstream telco or utility partners they choose, combining and bundling their service offerings with their own unique pricing plans and branding.”

Datagate America, with offices in Florida and California, builds on Datagate’s success with ConnectWise customers in its original development market of New Zealand. For example, ConnectWise client AyOne Computers launched a new business unit called LoudnClear, which uses Datagate to capitalize on the opportunity of selling telco services to its existing IT customers.

“Telephony services such as VoIP and virtual or hosted PBX often make natural add-on offerings to the customers of IT-focused MSPs,” says Mark Loveys. “Computing and telephony have converged and so many business customers now prefer a single point of contact for both.

“Other Datagate customers such as Dimension Data New Zealand report strong uptake of these new services by existing corporate and government clients. They say clients find it simpler to have one service provider delivering a complete range of IT, telco and data services. The barrier has been that telco services such as VoIP, data circuits, mobile, tolls, toll-free and other usage-based services are very complex to bill. This is the problem that Datagate solves.”
